Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” are unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The statement indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject Maxwell’s commutation request.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether he had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by the specified date.
